In all companies and establishments, having a background check is a very significant matter to do before really accepting applicants for a position in the company, no matter if it is a big position or a small one. The reason for this is of course for the security of the employees and the company itself from any danger that a person could inject in to the company. Some companies even go for a criminal background check on the applicants, as well as to their employees, just to make sure that everything would be under control and nothing ill would happen within the business.
Although for some, doing criminal check is not an appropriate thing to do, especially if they have already done the background check. Some believe that it is a for of narrow-mindedness to automatically stereotype a person if he or she has a criminal record in his or her past, especially if that person is really competent enough for the position that he or she wishes to take. Some really believes in the idea of second chances and they give opportunity to those kinds of people that wish to change and do something in their lives. But of course, even though it is a noble act to do, they still run the risk of having a potential danger to the company so they should make sure that they keep an eye on those people as well.
